  1. First of all, I understand most of you won't believe this. That's OK. During a trip to Scotland years ago, my brother and I were scheduled to play Troon in the morning and Turnberry in the afternoon--our last day. Well that day turned out to be stormy. Quite stormy. We teed off at Troon into a 55 mph wind which changed direction on #7 and brought a deluge. We finished though (Norman would have paid to have my drive on 18), had lunch, and headed down the road to Turnberry. Here the wind was in the mid-40's, but sunny to start. Then the rains were added to the wind. On holes 2 thru 5 it was like a John Wayne World War II movie on a destroyer in the North Atlantic. We had to shout into each other's ears to be heard over the rain and wind. Then after 5, the sun came out, but the wind intensified. Did I mention the wind got stronger--much stronger! On 9 tee the wind blew me away from my ball in mid-backswing...and almost off the tee. I asked our caddie how strong the wind was and he answered, "Aye, laddie, it must be 80 miles per hour." Unbelievable-yes. But when we got back to the Turnberry hotel after the round, the anemometer had recorded winds of 78 mph!! I posted an 89 that day at Turnberry and still think it was one of the best rounds I ever played!!
  2. I’m 6’1” and use a 39” putter. It allows me a nice upright stance and good pendulum stroke. I average around 27-29 putts per round.
  3. I usually get 3-5 rounds out of each ball. I have a firm rule to retire a ball after 100 holes or a hole-in one!
  4. I have a pair of Adidas' with BOA and really like them. The even pressure across my foot is excellent. No issues so far (2 years)
  5. No…and never. Not white belts either!
  6. 5 Brands—not counting balls. Sub-70 Driver & SW, LW Callaway fairway woods Ping hybrid Mizuno JPX irons
  7. My old Ping G410 Plus driver was getting 'tired', so I ordered a Sub 70 849D driver with the loft, shaft, and grip of my choice. It's great. And the customer follow-up/support is superb! Later, I added Sub 70 wedges (sand-54 and lob-60) to my stable and these are really good too. Excellent spin. Terrific feel. I can hardly wait until my Mizuno irons get old so that I can compare the Sub 70 irons to those from the big manufacturers...
